Downe defibrillator update

Last week a number of villagers took up the offer of defibrillator training in the Village Hall. The evening was very successful and Paul Pearson of the London Ambulance Service, included first aid training as well as defib training in the session. The next session is on 15 September again in the Village Hall starting at 7.30 p.m. All places must be pre-booked as there is a limit on the number that can be accommodated in one session. We have one or two places left and these can be booked on downdefib@btinternet.com or 01959-573157

We are still fundraising for the defibrillator and should you wish to donate please pick up a Gift Aid envelope from St Mary’s, Downe, and mark it ‘defib’ and pop it in the Church box. You must complete name and address in order that Gift Aid can be claimed. (Please do not leave cash in the box.)

We have been very lucky, along with Holwood Farm shop, to make the front page of this week’s Biggin Hill News. The piece in entitled ‘New defibrillators will help save lives.’ This is very good publicity for defibrillators in general as Biggin Hill locations are also mentioned.
